Cranger Guard is Erigen BMX’s grind sprocket guard and is the “protective brother” of the Cranger sprocket
It is made of a one-piece 7075 Full CNC aluminium
His brother, Cranger’s sprocket, was a challenge that was inspired by a car rim
This design process was quite limited as we could not complicate the shape of the component
In this way we avoided problems of breakage in the future
We played it safe
Cranger Guard gave us a little more play and allowed us to take it one step further
Having to make an outer edge to protect the teeth was our best chance to simulate the car’s rim more clearly and not get stuck with the initial half-baked idea

SEEMS STRANGE, DOESN’T IT?
BUT THAT’S HOW WE CREATED CRANGER
We’ re very motor freaks and we love cars, so it wasn’t difficult to find the inspiration to design
a BMX sprocket motivated by a car rim
EVEN SO, WE HAD TO ADAPT THAT RIM DESIGN TO THAT OF A BMX SPROCKET SO WE WERE LIMITED BY THE SPACE, THE SPROCKET’S TEETH, THE SIMPLICITY OF THE DESIGN WE WERE AIMING FOR AND THE UNIFORMITY IT HAS AND SHOULD HAVE
So, we had to simplify everything as much as possible and slow down creativity a little bit because we had to take into account many factors
Firstly, the design had to have something that could withstand the greatest force and then it was also very important to take into account the wear and tear on this transmission component

Galactic is born from the obsessive question that the human being has to discover:

To create this sprocket, we found inspiration in the small part we know of the Cosmos
The Sun is the star situated in the center of the solar system and on which the 8 planets we know rotate
The central hole where the spindles of the crank passes, represents the Sun
And the castings around it, the planets
The double height castings are to reduce the weight, but maintaining a greater rigidity at the same time as a more aesthetic touch
Be clear that this sprocket isn’t from this galaxy!

lucky was the first sprocket, designed on erigen bmx
we wanted to do something different than what we were seeing on the street today
so, we laid our cards on the table and we’ll take our chances
limited in design by the 4 suit symbols of a deck of cards, we had to start the other way around than with the other sprockets. i mean, from the inside out
first, we fitted the symbols of the card suits and from there we went to the rest
